Our mission: an ethical revolution in advertising
“From advertising for profit to advertising for solidarity”: our mission is to give advertising an ethical value by spreading strong principles of ethics and solidarity and by creating profits to be allocated to charity and solidarity projects so that we can create a new instrument of evangelization and spread the righteous culture.
AdEthic is a project that stems from the desire of a group of professionals in the Catholic world specialized in communication and digital advertising to share the Christian message with all seekers of the truth on the Internet. This initiative was developed as part of Aleteia, the new project of the Catholic Church promoted by the Foundation for Evangelization through the Media (FEM) with the purpose of sharing the Christian message on the Internet.
The development of AdEthic was also inspired by the desire to allow Catholic websites to finance themselves through advertising. This method had never been used before because of the fear of receiving advertising on their websites that may not be consistent with the principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church and thus not line IN with the content offered by the websites.
Our aim is to create a valuable advertising network, related to shared ethical principles and principles of the Catholic doctrine, to collect advertising that supports solidarity and charity, able to give a new face to the world of advertising by making it more responsible and stimulating the expansion of an increasingly connected, active and responsible network.
We are available for both the Catholic and secular worlds. We will be able to offer our services connected with the online advertising world to Catholics, who will finally find an instrument coherent with their values and able to produce resources to support charity and solidarity initiatives, and lay people who wish to use the advertising as an instrument to disseminate ethic values to their users. For this reason, we offer social networks advertising that is consistent with the values and expectations of their users according to a catholic format, AdCath, and a secular and ethic format, AdEthic.
Finally, we offer all advertising investors an audience of great quality in an exclusive context with extremely high visibility; in fact, the final users of the web sites belonging to our network represent a part of the community that shares our principles and want to share them with everyone around them.
What do we believe in and what does “ethical” mean to us?
We believe that the community has the right to communication that is found on ethics, truth, justice and solidarity, and that commercial communication has the obligation to support initiatives through which each person may generate good for mankind. According to us, advertising is an important means of communication that serves the good of the community and as such has a social function: to express the human and social value contained in the logics of the economy and profit.
All of our activities are carried out in compliance with the principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church since we believe that this accession is an authentic expression of humanity and of fundamental importance in human relations. When carrying out our activities, we are committed to listening to all of our stakeholders and taking into consideration their indications in order to make our service increasingly consistent with their expectations. We also pay particular attention to the requests of those who find themselves in disadvantaged situations by making the instruments and resources needed for better conditions available. We are also committed to acting in a way that gives our stakeholders the right to understand each essential or marginal aspect of our activities through a commitment of making all information affecting us exact, clear and accessible.
We believe that our commitments are a strong testimony of the importance that we give to our social responsibility, understood as a commitment to always act with a view to create value for all those who will be affected by our activities.
Our ethical vision is aimed at people, with particular attention to increasing social and individual awareness of society’s responsibility for people, for the excluded and for the needy. This vision led to the desire to offer a different type of advertising and accept only advertising that complies with the values in which we believe. As part of our mission to giving attention to the last, excluded and needy, we will allocate the majority of the profits generated by AdEthic (net of taxes and a small portion intended for shareholders) to charity and solidarity projects aimed at creating sustainable and socially responsible development models that will allow all advertising investors to do good by supporting these initiatives.
The ethical nature of our business is shown in all relationships that we establish with our stakeholders. In order to give substance to this principle, we have adopted a Code of Ethics that regulates, from a moral and ethical point of view, relationships with our stakeholders and clarifies the Governance rules that we have defined in order to ensure that our company is operated in compliance with the principles and values in which we believe. These principles and values deeply characterize our identity, and we promote them with everyone who collaborates with us in carrying out our activities.
