In order to be accepted a blog or site must be registered under a second-level domain – i.e.: www.domain.com – of good quality and must respect our guidelines that are available to read here.
AdEthic WILL NOT accept websites that:
Produce, offer or direct users to links that have:
- Adult content.
- Erotically or sexually motivated content.
- Sites that display child pornography or contain links to contents of this nature.
- Sites that are slanderous, defamatory or promote incitement to hatred, be they in a textual or graphic form (that is to say of a racial, political, ethnic or religious nature etc).
- Sites that display gratuitous, obscene or vulgar violence, offensive language and content that approves of or threatens physical harm.
- Illegal drugs or contents of a similar nature.
- The prompting, promoting or facilitating of activities which are illegal or legally questionable such as piracy, hacking or spamming.
- The promoting of incentive ‘clicks’, pay to surf programmes or use desktop objects as the bars and frames of the windows.
- Incentives of any kind for users to click on the advertisements, that is to say encouraging users to click on adverts or to visit advertisers’ sites, as well as the labelling of adverts with a text that is different from the “sponsored links” or “advertising”, the use of robots or other automated query tools.
- Excessive quantities of advertising (stacking of ads, more than three banners on one page, pages that only host advertising, etc)
- The filtering or modification of the order of the information contained in every advert, or the removal, obscuring or reducing of any advert to a minimum.
- The requirement for end users to download a dialler (spyware) in order to view the site’s content.
- Displays of our adverts following the actions of any software application, like for example, a toolbar. No AdEthic advertising code can be pasted into any software applications. We cannot accept sites that are associated with any type of client-side software or offer these types of client-side software.
- Sites containing or linking to software piracy
- Sites containing or linking to all forms of illegal activity (for example, how to construct a bomb).
- Sites that take part in or broadcast inappropriate newsgroup messages or unsolicited emails (spam)
- Sites that promote any type of illegal substance or paraphernalia or sites with illegal activities and false or misleading investment consultancies.
In order to avoid websites that are offensive or possibly misunderstanding, we check every site individually. We also monitor sites after they have begun publishing our adverts. If a site is found to have violated our regulations we will, at any moment in time, inform the Publisher and, in the said case, AdEthic will assess whether or not to suspend or close the account.
AdEthic doesn’t accept ‘sub-syndicated’ websites (i.e. www.yourname.domain.com) offered by free web hosting providers.
No, because as you probably know the free domain service on wordpress.com cannot technically accept (neither on its pages nor within the widgets) advertising scripts of any sort.
